Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Puerto Rico Sportfishing Charters and Charter Command collect and use information when someone visits the website, requests a trip, completes a booking, makes a payment, or communicates with the charter.
Information collected
We may collect name, email, phone number, party size, approximate child ages supplied by the booking adult, trip preferences, selected experiences, dates, special requests, communications, payment status, and booking history.
We also collect operational and analytics information such as referral source, UTM parameters, pages or booking steps viewed, clicks, form errors, abandoned steps, device and browser information, and approximate network information. This helps operate the booking system, attribute referrals, prevent fraud, and improve conversion.
Payments and saved cards
Stripe processes card payments. This website does not store full card numbers or security codes. We may store Stripe customer and payment-method references, card brand, last four digits, expiration month and year, payment status, transaction identifiers, fees, refunds, and disputes so that the disclosed remaining balance can be charged and the booking can be supported.
How information is used
- To create, review, confirm, modify, and complete reservations.
- To collect deposits and balances, issue refunds, and address disputes.
- To send transactional booking, payment, weather, safety, and meeting communications.
- To manage captain, boat, partner-referral, and payout operations.
- To measure website and booking-funnel performance and improve the service.
- To protect guests, staff, the business, and the platform from misuse or fraud.
- To comply with legal, tax, accounting, and card-network obligations.
Service providers and sharing
Information is shared only as needed with Captain Luis and authorized staff, Stripe for payments and payouts, Supabase for database and authentication services, Netlify for website hosting and server functions, Resend or other communications providers, referral partners when a trackable referral applies, professional advisers, and government or legal authorities when required.
Personal information is not sold to advertisers.
Cookies and local storage
The site may use cookies, browser storage, session identifiers, and similar technologies to preserve booking progress, maintain secure sessions, measure use, remember referral attribution, and prevent duplicate actions. Browser settings can limit these technologies, but parts of the booking flow may stop working.
Data retention
Booking, payment, communication, payout, and accounting records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, meet legal or tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Temporary booking holds and abandoned-flow data may be retained for shorter periods or anonymized for analysis.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, restricted server credentials, and third-party payment processing. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so guests should contact us promptly if they believe their information or booking has been misused.
Children
Bookings must be made by an adult. An adult may provide limited information about children in the party, such as approximate ages, when needed for safety, capacity, or trip planning. The service is not designed for children to submit personal information directly.
Choices and requests
Guests may ask to review or correct contact information, opt out of nonessential marketing, or request deletion where retention is not required for an active booking, payment, accounting, legal, safety, or dispute purpose.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated as the service or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
