Booking and Payment Terms
These terms apply to experiences operated by Puerto Rico Sportfishing Charters and booked through La Parguera Bio Bay Tours or Charter Command.
1. Reservation deposit
Online bookings with a final total of $1,000 or less require a 25% deposit. Online bookings with a final total over $1,000 require a 50% deposit. A booking totaling exactly $1,000 remains in the 25% tier. A single-experience booking becomes confirmed after the deposit succeeds and the website confirms the reservation. A booking containing more than one experience remains pending until Captain Luis reviews and confirms the complete itinerary.
2. Remaining balance and saved-card authorization
The remaining balance is scheduled to be charged at approximately 6:00 PM Puerto Rico time on the day before the first confirmed experience. By checking the authorization box and completing Stripe Checkout, the guest authorizes Puerto Rico Sportfishing Charters and its payment platform to save the payment method securely with Stripe and use it for the disclosed remaining balance.
Full card numbers are handled by Stripe and are not stored by this website. If an automatic charge cannot be completed, the guest must use the secure payment link provided and pay before departure.
3. Multi-experience and multi-day bookings
The applicable deposit—25% for totals up to $1,000 or 50% for totals over $1,000—is collected before captain review. Requested dates are blocked while the itinerary is pending. Captain Luis may confirm the itinerary, request reasonable changes, or decline it. If the itinerary cannot be accommodated and is declined by the operator, the deposit is refunded in full.
4. Prices and inclusions
The total displayed immediately before checkout controls the booking price. The total reflects the selected experiences, durations, party size, and any package savings shown. Gratuity is not included. Any taxes or paid add-ons required for the booking will be disclosed before payment.
5. Cancellations, weather, and rescheduling
The Cancellation and Refund Policy is part of these terms. Captain Luis has final authority over weather, sea, mechanical, and safety decisions. A forecast or rain alone does not mean an experience is canceled unless the operator confirms the cancellation.
6. Arrival, guest conduct, and safety
Guests must arrive at the confirmed meeting location by the stated arrival time and follow all captain and crew instructions. Late arrival may shorten the experience without reducing the price. The operator may refuse or end service when a guest is dangerously intoxicated, threatening, reckless, or unwilling to follow safety instructions.
7. Motion sickness and personal readiness
All boat trips involve motion. Guests who may be susceptible should prepare before departure, follow product labeling, and consult a pharmacist or healthcare professional when appropriate. Personal discomfort or motion sickness after departure does not by itself create a right to a refund.
8. Natural conditions
Fish activity, catch results, wildlife sightings, water visibility, weather, and bioluminescence intensity are natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
9. Payment disputes and corrections
Guests should contact the operator promptly about a billing issue so it can be investigated and corrected. Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks are handled according to these terms, the cancellation policy, applicable law, and card-network rules.
10. Electronic communications
Guests consent to receive transactional email or text messages concerning the booking, payment, schedule, safety, weather, and meeting instructions. Marketing messages require separate permission where required.
11. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Puerto Rico. Nothing in these terms limits a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
